Meeting Minutes - June 15 , 1988
The meeting was called to order at 7 40 PM. Present were
Gilman , Gubisch , McKenna , Witthoft.
Minutes of the pre\ ious meeting , May 11th , were read and
appr nN ed .

t,nod Street Barn - Mchenna is working with deNeloper (Reu\ en
Liebhaber ) to delay cork at site
Allen-Sz.enson Farmhouse - McKenna reported revel\ ing call
from owner of nearby historic home , who is planning to subditide
land and sell at market rate Owner is interested in having Allen
I-louse on site , Mchenna is discussing with one builder, and will
cci,tart lin Cerhone ( doing Bowman TaNern ) to assess interest
(,uli .9ch : ill pursue Town Manager for possible tax title lots on

Preser\ ation Fund - Mchenna will work on during summer with
Ton Counsel and Town Manager tlitthoft questioned legal
restrictions on granting funds for work already completed ( one
i1,terg ted party has begun restoration ) , McKenna will check with
Counsel
PreFertation Month awards - are being framed , according to
Mchenna t' ] tthoft suggested presenting at July 7 hand concert ,
she c, i 1l ask for Oh to do during intermission . Minuteman will

suggested Commission appear there to publicize award

Warrant Article 49 - Gilman suggested waiting until Fall to
contact Historic Districts Commission for their support and for
help from Somerzille Commission Director , to be nearer to Toun
Meeting time Mchenna proposed asking for letters of support on
the article from those affected owners who ha\ e expressed
positiNe attitudes on the measure Witthoft questioned if the
Lording of the article permitted later additions of new districts

Toon Hall Photo Display - Witthoft is pursuing local
photographer for prints , will work with Town Hall custodial staff

Fast Lexington National Register District - Gubisch is
completing nomination documentation , effort slowed down by mo\ e
to new home

pool framed ( for consertation purposes ) , had been properly
matted , frimed and re-hung outside the Town Manager' s office .
Possible Demolition - Mclienna received a call from local

Demolition Delay Public Hearing Minutes - June 15 , 1988
On the application of Guiseppe DiGiacomo to
demolish the house at 336 Lincoln Street.
Present for the Commission - Martin Gilman , Dawn McKenna ,
Brucia Witthoft and Roland
Gubisch (chairman ) .
for the petitioner - Guiseppe DiGiacomo
Sal Ciccarelli , attorney
abuttors & others - 3 notified, none present
The hearing was con\ ened at 8 05 PM Gubisch briefly
reN ieled the demolition delay by-law and process as it applies to
siruetnres listed in th,- Comprehensive Cultural Resources

new one To that end Mr DiGiacomo has engaged an architect to
design a one-leN,el house which Mr. DiGiacomo intende to liNe in

Mrs McKenna has viewed the interior of the house during a
realtor' s open house , and she described its appearance and
absence of an\ vestiges of its prior use as a chicken poop The
Commission agreed that this house was probYbly included in the
inventory owing to its unique consersion , but that the result was
neither historically nor architecturally significant enough to
preser\ P .
