PRESENT Chairman Bill Brenchick, Vice-Chairman Bill Fitzgerald, Karen Gaughan,
Paul Jenkins, Jean Coates, Dawn Brenchick. Guest Sgt. Robert Hickey, LPD
CORRESPONDENCE Thank you notes were received from Col. Morgan and Lt. Gen. Marsh from
Hanscom Field regarding Patriot's Day.
BUSINESS Bills were received form the following for Patriot's Day and were signed by
Bill Brenchick. Hull High School $400 (Rowe Chevrolet) , Golden Buccaneers $150 (Old Colony) ,
C. & W Transportation $70, Burlington Citations $100 (Lexington Chamber of Commerce) ,
Colonial Bagpipes $300, and Lexington Lumber $4.38--submitted by Paul Jenkins. The following
bills have not yet been received Busa Liquors, Renegades, St. Williams, Metheun High
School, Somerville High School, and Burlington Roc-Ettes.
MEMORIAL DAY Paul Jenkins has ordered from Carlson's 5 wreaths and 1 bouquet needed for
the ceremonies. The parade site will be at the School Administration Building. Otis Brown,
Chairman of the School Committee and Captain Lima 0 K 'd the site. Bill Brenchick will send
a letter to Chief Corr of the Lexington Police Department confirming this Bill Fitzgerald
affirmed that the bus will be at the parade site at 8 45 a.m. to transport participants to
Westview Cemetery.
The roster should be ready by 21 May 1979 so it can be submitted to the Minute-Man for
publication
All participants have been contacted: Robert Hutchinson, Town Manager; Lexington
Minutemen; Margery Battin, Chairman, Board of Selectmen, Bill Hosford, Commander V.F.W.;
and the Lexington High School Band. The National Guard has not,as yet, been contacted.
Hayden will not be marching in the parade. Karen Gaughan is still waiting to hear from the
other youth groups. Dawn Brenchick is waiting to hear from Marie Hill of the Girl Scouts
for the names of the Wreath Bearers.
Some suggestions for Memorial Day speaker are Reverand Macy and General Atamian of the
National Guard. Bob Hickey accepted appointance of Master of Ceremonies for the day.
Patrolmen John Day and Peter Mills are two of his Aides He will contact Bill Brenchick
regarding the other two names.
There will be no meeting 17 May 1979 The next meeting will be 24 May 1979.
