HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-12-21-TCC-min.pdf TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE December 21, 1972 PRESENT: Churn. Barnes, Mrs. Reed, Mr. Brenchick, Mr. Fitzgerald, Mr. Lord, Mr. Fenske, and Mr. Gaughan. Mr. Barnes called this meeting to ratify an agreement between the Bi-centennial Committee and the Town Celebrations Committee under the heading "Proposed Memorandum of Understanding". This proposed memorandum was among the missing, however, so action was taken. Mr. Barnes read a letter from Vincent J-R Kehoe, Chaitman, Promotions Committee of the Society for the Preservation of Colonial Culture requesting a copy of the proposed plans for 1975's Patriots Day celebration. The letter will be forwarded to the Bi-centennial Committee. This was a brief meeting. The next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, January 4th, 1973. TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE January 4, 1973 PRESENT: Vice Churn. Gaughan, Mrs. Litchfield, Mr. Lord and Mrs. Hall. Mrs. Hall is to call Mr. Barnes and remind him to submit his Town Celebrations Committee section of the Town Report. Beginning next Thursday, January 11th, the Town Celebrations Committee will be meeting every Thursday evening at 7:30pm in the new Town Office Building, Conference Room G-5, through the month of May. PATRIOTS DAY: April 16, 1973 Mrs. Litchfield will invite the following groups to march in our afternoon parade: All Armed Forces Marching Units and Bands in our area Norwich University National Guard Lexington High School Band Fitchburg High School Band Gloucester High School Band All Committee members should be thinking about a parade theme for this year. Preliminary planning for Patriots Day 1973 was begun, gearing our plans toward 1975's celebration. Members present seriously discussed having the TCC undertake the complete control of all invitations for parade participation. This will be voted upon on January 11th.
