Fitzgerald, Vice Chrm Flynn, Paul Jenkins, Marion Snow, Bob Jackson, Karen Gaughan, Dawn Brenchick, Fran Mallett Guests - John Van - Chrm Minute Man Council Frank Curley - Aide Minute Man Council Presented their plan for retreat for Patriot's Day 1982 Plan in Lexington would be much the same as 1980 A British would leave Fiske Hill at 12-30 P M Arrive at Hasting Park at 1 00 P M Enter at N W corner-cross the park to S E corner at Worthen Road Local militia would greet them at opening There would be gunfire for about 20 minutes Would proceed along Mass Ave to Green Short memorial observance at the Green B Proceed along Mass Ave to Munroe Tavern Arrive 2 00/2 10 P.M British will form squares and ladies will tend wounded At 2 20 British Column will proceed to Tower Park C At 2 30 Column will arrive at Tower Park - entering at Four Seasons driveway and proceed across park engaging militia in battle for about 30 minutes Exit from Tower Park at Marrett Road at 3 00 - 3 15 P M D Special Notes - Request D P W rope Hasting Rd , Lincoln St , and Worthen Rd They will use their Minute Men as pickets in both Hastings Park and Tower Park Will have more pickets than 1980. Maine and New Hampshire groups will be used as pickets (for crowd control) Chrm Fitzgerald impressed on Mr Van and Mr Curley of being positive the cannons are set properly so as not to harm windows etc in adjacent houses Ray Flynn questioned possibility of having British troops in our P M parade on Patriot's Day We would place early in the parade so people coming from a distance could leave more quickly The T C C will discuss proposal of Minute Man council with Board of Selectmen Meeting adjourned at 10 00 P M Respectfully submitted, Frances P Mallett Recording Secretary k
