Meeting of April 8, 1982

George Brown, Amateur Colonial Wireless radio group was present to review
qis plans for assistance at the parade Eight units will be stationed along
the route
Paul reported that a new banner for the Beacon/Minuteman Publications is
being made and several old banners are being repaired Youth Recognition signs
a-id the sign for the car carrying the Honorary Chief Marshall are ready.
Neil Cronin reported on the donation by the Chamber of Commerce of Float
prizes Karen distributed a list of floats which will participate. The judging
ill take place at Follen Church at noon on the 19th. Chamber of Commerce
President Larry Chait will be thanked by letter for the Chamber's generosity
Ray Flynn updated the Committee on costs for units. Final report to be
riven next week
Bob Jackson reported that the group from the American Heritage Assoc ,
Fort Devens, will be transported to Lexington by the Boston Recruiting Office
Chief Corr informed the Committee that his Division Marshalls are as follows
1st Division. Frank McNamara
2nd " Dan Murphy
3rd " Gresh Lattimore
4th °' Frank Samuel
Joe Rooney will be the Chief's Aide
The Division Marshalls present reported on their choice of aides
Frank McNamara was not present to report on Division 1 aides
Dan Murphy, Division 2 Aides Richard Stockinger, Norman Coates
Narita Hartshorn
Gresh Lattimore, Division 3 Aides not selected at this time. He
asked for suggestions
Frank Samuel Division f Aides Peter Haxton, Frank Rymes, Beatrice
Lewis
Chairman Fitzgerald gave a rundown of transportation of Shriners and guests
fro71 the Elks Hall
Dick Michelson will again be stationed to feed floats into the parade
It was agreed that the "Spirit" should stay in sight of the Parade Doug
Ma_ ner will be advised of this

unit locations, as listed in April 1 minutes were reviewed
BLS routes and un oadi.ng procedures were explained the the Division Marshalls
e Roo net will direct all units as they disembark to their proper assembly areas
The Division Marshalls will report to the Chief Marshall at 1 45 P M that
all units are ready to step off, or inform him of any problems
At the end of the Parade, Division Marshalls and aides are responsible to
seep the divisions moving through the intersection of Mass Ave and Worthen Rd
and on to Hayden
The Minutes of the meeting of April 1, 1982, were approved as corrected.
The Chairman read the complete list of units booked to date. Ray Flynn was
asked to book the Alliance Jr group for a fee of $300
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously voted to accept the
list of units, with the addition of the Alliance Jr 's, as presented by the
C7airman
Draft roster, prepared by Dawn following April 5 meeting of Karen, Dawn,
Ray and Kathy Gaughan was reviewed and amended
The Draft roster was tentatively acceptaed as amended
Chairman Fitzgerald announced that there is a total of 18 sponsors to date.
Dawn asked the Committee 's view on a request from the Haverhill Middle
School to allow a group of 20+ youngsters to participate in the A.M They
will arrive on April 18, and come to Lexington on the 19th to view the re-enact-
ment The members agreed that they be allowed to march at the end of the A M
Parade
The meeting adjourned at 11 45 P M
