PRESENT. Chairman Fitzgerald, Vice Chairman Flynn, Paul Jenkins, Dawn
Brenchick, Marion Snow
The Chairman reported that as of January 1, 4 concerns have ex-
pressed interest in submitting floats for Patriots Day.
DISCUSSION. The Committee reviewed the forms and letters sent to participants
n the Patriots Day parades.
Dawn Brenchick said that except for changes in the dates, the
Float Application will remain the same as last year
Ray Flynn read an amended version of the letter to units selected
to march which was approved by the Committee.
The letter of general information on the afternoon parade will
not be changed.
The initial information sheet will not be changed
Suggested amendments to the initial letter to potential participants
were read and approved by the Committee
The Chairman reported that he has a verbal commitment from the unit
from Fort Devens.
Ray Flynn said that the Salvation Army, the Kevin Barry Kilt Band and
the Yarmouth/Dennis Regional Band soom receptive.
The above will be sent information by Ray Flynn.
Chairman Fitzgerald reaffirmed the vote of the Committee that the
route for the morning parade on April 19 will be from Muzzey Jr. High
School to the Green
He said that according to John Van, Minute-Man Council, plans for the
renactment of the Retreat on April 18 remain the same.
A letter, requesting permission for the activities of the day, will be
sent to the Town Manager
Dawn reported on her conversation with Dick Kirk, Hayden Recreation Ctr
regarding the possibility of using the Hayden facility for the Patriots'
Day reception The fee would be $75 with additional $5 to $6/hr for
maintenance Other possibilities were discussed briefly.
Ray Flynn has spoken with Cory Wyman regarding participation of the
newly formed State Guard, either as an honor guard at the reviewing
stand only or as a marching unit as well. Mr Wyman was very much in
favor of the idea

-URE DISCUSSION Members were asked to be thinking of suggestions for the
1982 Patriots Day Theme which will be discussed and decided
upon at the meeting on January 14
Fees for the VFW and Lexington High School Band will also be
discussed on January 14.
The meeting adjourned at 8 55 P.M.
