HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-02-24-TCC-min.pdf Tom Celebrations Committee February 24, 1983 Present - Chrm Fitzgerald, Vice Chrm Flynn, Bob Jackson, Paul Jenkins , Dawn Dziokonski , Marion Snow, Jean Coates, Karen Gaughan, Fran Mallett Guests - Charles Price, Jr - Executive Officer Lexington Minute Men Col Charles Cullen - Chief Marshall Business - T C C reviewed parade plan with Charlie Price Parade to assemble at Mass Ave at Pleasant St at 7 00 A M Step off time at 7 30 A M The T C C has had requests from many people that parade start at Pleasant St - particularly from Mrs Hartshorn, Lexington Girl Scouts Charlie Price requested bus to take Minute Men to staging area from Common at 6 45 A M to 6 50 A M Minute Men requested 2 buses in P M but will go along with T C C plans Minute Men reported 1st Michigan Fife and Drum Corp wishes to participate in parade Ray Flynn requested an updated list of Minute Men groups who should be contacted by T C C to participate in parade Lexington Minute Men requests position in the first division Ray Flynn suggested Minute Men attempt to get British 10th Regiment A Foot be encouraged to march in P M parade They are very colorful and would add a great deal Parade Plans - Bob Jackson Regarding participants in P M parade - from T C C must provide transportation and meals Heritage Hall Platoon 14th Continental Army Spirit of America Brigade - 70 marchers 18th Army Band Dawn Dziokonski From Hanscom - Color Guard -marching unit Spirit of 76 - request a drummer from Jr H S Band So Weymouth - Color Guard from Otis - 30 member Air National Guard Air Force Band 40K, 0 members Marine airlift Group and Color Guard From Univ of Lowell - Air Force - ROTC 25 member marching unit MIT Army ROTC - Purging rifles Neddham Police Dept - 14 members Honor Guard Lexington H S Band - 102 members Hayden Recreation Center - 8 drummers Dan Bissell - 30 member Fife and Drum Corp (+200) Tiant Jr ancient Fife and Drum Corp p 35 people (+325) Union Brigade - Fife and Drum Corp - 17 people (+300) Town Celebrations Committee -2- February 24, 1983 Paul Jenkins Contact Frank Rymes Scout Troon #219 and #220 Karen Gaughan Floats F T 111 - U S Air Force Hanscom Field Ray Flynn Full report next Thursday 3/3/83 Smith & Miller - flat with 40 ft truck Dick Michelson will handle floats and antique cars Charley Cullen - Chief Marshall Charley will meet with Bob Jackson and Dawn Dziokonski to find who to instruct division marshall to contact in case of trouble Charley will have meeting with divisional marshalls.
