Present Chairman Fitzgerald, Vice Chairman Flynn, Karen Gaughan, Marion Snow,
Dawn Dziokonski, Bob Jackson, Jean Coates, Paul Jenkins, Fran Mallett.
Guests Capt James Lima, Lexington Police
Capt Lima complimented Sergeant Flynn and the State Guard for being most
helpful in Traffic control The police had a severe problem on Follen Road
getting buses moved out quickly because of people parking in restricted areas.
Capt Lima suggested the D P W be given the duty of putting horses in closed
streets before parade comes by
George Brown - Amateur Radio
Mr Brown was pleased with the operation in general, but in the future he would
like to have people with hand-held units marching with the parade and
communicating with the stationary units
He commented on the gaps in the parade
Business: Bill Fitzgerald assigned to all committee members the thank you letters to be
sent to participants, helpful business men, clergy and sponsors who aided the
Town Celebrations Committee in making the day a success
The Com:inittee discussed the A M Paradefor 1984 regarding the participation of
the public at the lower end The opinion was that the interest in the parade
was not very strong until it reached !SIuzzey Junior High School - It was
decided to try one more year as 1983
The meeting was adjourned at 9 45 P M
