HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-01-17-TCC-min.pdf TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE January 17, 1985 Present Chairman Fitzgerald , Vice Chairman Flynn, Bob Jackson, Pat Flynn , Marion Snow, Karen Gaughan , Fran Mallett Business Marion Snow submitted a report to John Forucci , Editor of Lexington Minute Man in regards to Patriots Day Parade A M Follow same position in parade - directly in back of Chief Marshall and his aides Lt Taylor and Sgt Corr will be two officers in charge of Patriots Day They will be in first or second week of February to make plans with T C C Progress Report Pat Flynn Waltham Marine Recruiting will have a color guard Jim Mitchell reported the Charles Shutt Marine Color Guard will be in P M Parade Memorial H S Color Guard from Billerica - led by Marine LtJerry Miller R T C.0 voted to ask M D C Mounted Patrol headed by Capt John Revere - Contact Laura Palmer Will contact Harvard for Motor Cycle Unit Committed voted to have both horses and motor cycle units if available Marion Snow Was advised to contact Navy public affairs office to get "The Wasp" Rabbi Meiroweitz for Clergy for Patriots Day Did float applications Contacted State House for Governor's Proclamation Bob Jackson Air Force Band will play Green Berets Song in the line of march Ray Flynn 45 Band applications have been sent out Mass Maritime requested to come Coast Guard are available 4-H Club ok'd by Committee for A M Parade provided they follow the committee's rules as laid down last year Town Celebrations Committee -2- January 17, 1985 Bill Fitzgerald' Shriners are not available this year. Bill will request of General Wilkinson if we could get the Oriental Band Elks will supply hall for hosting before Patriots Day parade and for reception after parade Elks want a float application Neil Cronin and Dick Michelson decided 12 30 would be adequate time for judging All floats should be at Adams School by 12 00 noon Business T C C sent V F W. $150 for all parades L. H S. Band $400 for all parades Bill Fitzgerald will check on balloon dirigible for P M Parade Pat Flynn will check Youth Commission We will not have Police Honor Guard in P M.
