HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-03-14-TCC-min.pdf TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE March 14, 1985 Present Chrm Fitzgerald , Vice Chrm Flynn, Marion Snow, Pat Flynn, Karen Gaughan, Jean Coates, Fran Mallett Guests Lt Taylor - Traffic Officer, Lexington Police Department Capt Commanding Charles Price - Lexington Minute Men Business Lt Taylor T C C will have Desk Area command post at Mass Ave & Pleasant Street with Amateur Radio Communiciation Other Amateur Radio set ups at Mass Ave & Marrett Road Muzzey School Waltham Street & Mass Ave Rear of Reviewing Stand Elks High School Parking Lot from 12 to 1 30 then to Hayden at end of Parade Amateur Radio will also be at the Road Race at Mass Ave and Marrett Road, Waltham Street, Shell Station at Lincoln St , Five Forks BLses Banner Bearer bus will leave High School Parking Lot at 1 00 P M Bus at Monument at 1 00 P M for Minute Men and V I P's Bus at Elks at 1 00 P M to take marchers and military to staging area Elks will have 5 buses to take Shriners down to Adams School They will return to Hayden to transport Shriners back to Elks Hall T C C requested Lt Taylor to help control youngsters on bikes from breaking through parade and keen them away from grandstand Cant Price - Lexington Minute Men Problem with media people going through ropes on Green and setting up in the middle of the Green Minute Men will have pickets patrolling the lines to keep open British Consul will be escorted to Old Burying Ground at 6 30 A M to put wreathes on graves Minute Men will escort D A R to old burying ground at 11 45 to decorate graves Police will cut off Mass Ave at 9 30 for Road Race Pat Flynn Pat has made arrangements for B U Band to play on green from 1 - 2 Northeastern Band will notify Pat by 4/5 if they will be available for the parade Karen Gaughan Floats - Lexpress, Boy Scouts Campfire Girls want to march in P M Parade Marion Snow Sent out 75 Banner Bearer applications to Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts To'in Celebrations Committee - March 14, 1985 Lexington Minute Men - Will issue V I P Passes for the green Nancy Cannalonga Youth Commission, to meet with T C C on 3/28/85 No Miami Group will arrive at Battle Green Inn at 4 00 P M Saturday 4/13 T C C will take young people from Lexington Green on tour They will meet Gov Dukakis in the State House at 10 00 P M on Wednesday 4/17 Amateur Radio will meet with T C C on 3/21/85 Mexican Group will march in Youth Parade Meeting adjourned at 10 00 P M Frances P Mallett Recording Secretary
