PRESENT Chairman Fitzgerald, Vice Chairman Flynn, Karen Gaughan, Pat Flynn,
Marion Snow Also in attendance was Jim Hart, representing the
Lexington Minute Men
Memorial Day '86
Chairman Fitzgerald informed the Committee that designation of a Chief
Marshal for Memorial Day was still not settled The following arrangements
are firm
Fire Department Color Guard will participate
Gen' l Logan's Orders will be read by Neil Splaine, Gettysburg Address by
Fiona Rotberg
As in the past, the Committee will leave the School Adm Building at 9 a m
for Westview Cemetery Boy and Girl Scouts, Fr Papademetriou, Lexington
Minute Men will participate in the ceremony A volley will be fired by the
Minute Men Ray Flynn will arrange for taps and echo
The group will return to the School Administration Building, the parade will
form up and step off at 10 00 a m for Munroe Cemetery for the traditional
ceremonies Fr Papademetriou will deliver the invocation
At Cary Hall the usual procedures will be followed Fr Papademitriou will
again deliver an invocation
The Parade will proceed to the Old Burying Ground. The Minute Men will enter
through the old pathway, as usual
We will march to the Battle Green for ceremonies. Speaker of the Day will be
Colonel Flanagan of Hanscom Field
It was agreed that a combination of Minute Men, Veterans, accompanied by Neil
Cronin will deal with the flag raising
On May 15, Neil Splaine and Fiona Rotberg will attend the TCC meeting, and
possibly a Police Dept representative
The Minutes of the TCC meeting on May 1 , 1986, were approved as presented
Bill Fitzgerald informed the committee of a party on May 29th for former
Selectman Margery Battin Tickets are $10 each
He described plans for Springfield's observance of its 350th anniversary,
including a parade on Sunday, May 18th Also noted was "Recognition Weekend" to
be held in mid-July in Amherst, Mass He and Ray Flynn plan to attend the Satur-
day Parade Among other ships to be honored will be the USS Lexington
There was discussion of the logistics involved with relocating the BU Band from
the Green to Emery Park Pat Flynn suggested that the accoustics would be better
at Emery The matter will be considered at another time, but the difficulties with
dealing with the folding chairs after the concert were thought to be a deterrent

Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn at 9 00 p.m
