Chairman Fitzgerald, Vice Chairman Flynn, Jean Coates, Bob Jackson, Pat Flynn , Karen Gaughan, Fran Hallett Business Bill Fitzgerald was requested to a review of ships at Amherst With Ray Flynn accompanying him along with their wives they took off. They had a brunch, then went to the reviewing stand. Enjoyed a Marine Corp Drill and Band Concert They were presented a certificate to bring back to Lexington The main speaker of the day was Ray Winfield Willard, an Ex-Lexingtonian. The Marine Corp League invited the T.C.C. to attend their installation of officers on Thursday, e ..- - Board of Selectmen requested that we submit to the Board the names of four people to be trainees on the committee. We will discuss in two weeks and return information to the board Thursday, October 30th - Group picture for Town Report Jean Coates and Fran Hallett will start on T.0 C report for Town report after the 11th of November The Air Force Band has a question on dates for Patriots Day Bob Jackson and Tony Dzlankonski will check it out Progress Report. Pat Flynn - Requests for Bands from Hanscom - 36th Medical Battalion; Heritage Group, Green Berets He also contacted R 0 T C Ray Flynn - 35 Invitatiions have gone out. Timbulane responded Ray will call back to check price _ Coast Guard Band - Must go through Washington The U S. Constitution has a marching unit in original dress. Very attractive. Pat Flynn will follow up on General Staff. Bill Fitzgerald and Ray Flynn met with Pres Roland King and Vice president Charles Ryberg from the "U S.S. Lex" Associates. They would like to come to Lexington for patriots Day - "the Blue Ghost" and and "42" Veterans To be here for the early morning parade and the Battle on the Green and the balance of the day. Veterans Day. Jerry Garrity will pick Marshalls and Aides. Tony Dzlakonski has applied for speaker from Hanscom. Hopefully, this will be new Commander. Committee voted to fund colation after Veteran' s Day Parade. Bob Jackson will approach Bedford High School for marching unit for Veterans and Patriots Day Parade Town Celebrations Committee - October 2, 1986 Veterans Day Karen will contact Girl Scouts and Campfire Girls for Veterans Day, and Paul Jenkins will handle Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts Bill Fitzgerald requested Selectmen to allow T C C to put up MIA Flag on Veterans Day and one week after Veterans Day Elks will provide a detail V F W will provide color guard for flag raising Bill Fitzgerald spoke to Jim Mitchell about the color guard and marching detail for Veterans Day Ray Flynn will contact Lexington High School Band Bill Fitzgerald contacted the Fire Department for Honor Guard and requested a Fire Engine He also requested Police Department Honor Guard but this is very doubtful Parade format as before - Right of Green, stop at Soldiers Monument and proceed onto Green from Harrington Road There will be a three found volley on the Green and at Soldiers Monument Veterans will ride in a car T C C discussed whether we would have horses in Patriots Day Parade Motion made and seconded we restrict the horses to horse and wagon only We will omit mounted patrol So moved , Meeting adjourned at 9 45 P M Frances P Mallett Recording Secretary Town Celebrations Committee
