HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-01-15-TCC-min.pdf TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE January 15, 1987 Present Chairman Fitzgerald, Bob Jackson, Pat Flynn, Marion Snow, Karen Gaughan, Jean Coates, Fran Mallett Business Chairman Fitzgerald and the Committee congratulated Jean Coates on the fine job she did on the report of the Committee to the Town Report Discussed a banner with Parade Theme at the beginning of Parade So Voted Discussed a hanging sign over the Center of Mass Avenue Pat Flynn will take care of B U Concert Band Bob Jackson will follow through on Hanscom Chrm Fitzgerald had a meeting with U S Lexington group The monument they will give to Lexington is in its last planning stage Hopefully it will be ready by Patriots Day 1988 In the parade U S Lexington Group will wear grey jackets with Blue Ghost Seal on one side and the Lexington Minuteman Seal on the other Parade T C C voted to have Clysdale Horses Marion Snow sent float application to Youth Commission Steve McQueen suggested young people walk beside float and they have been granted permission to hand out literature on drugs The Subcommittee of associate members must be available to attend meetings on Thursday evenings at 8 00 P M and work on Patriots Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day T C C discussed 1987 - 1988 Chief Marshall and Chief of Staff This will be finalized at 1/29/87 meeting Banner Bearers T C C would like sponsors to supply their banner bearers if possible We should write to the Superintendent of Schools and request permission to contact elementary schools to obtain banner bearers Next week meeting 1/29/87 Meeting adjourned at 9 40 Frances P Mallett Recording Secretary Town Celebrations Committee
