PRESENT William Fitzgerald, Chairman, Raymond Flynn, Vice Chairman,
Pat Flynn, Gerald Hagerty, Jean Coates
ABSENT: Karen Gaughan, Nancy Cannalonga, Paul Jenkins, Bob Jackson
Chairman Bill called the meeting to order at 8 10 p m He gave an
update on the USS LEXINGTON/Lexington Lions Club plans for the 5 bronze
memorial plaques that are to be dedicated on Patriots Day 1988. The
Lexington Historical Commission is scheduled to meet with them on
(October 21st, 1987, for approval of a designated site between
the Visitors' Center and Buckman Tavern for the plaques
MEMBERSHIP OF COMMITTEE
Bill Fitzgerald announced that Fran Mallett and Marion Snow had resigned
from the Committee. The Board of Selectman has appointed Gerry Hagerty
and Nancy Cannalonga to the Committee (both were previously members of
the Sub-Committee) . Resignations from the Sub-Committee have been
received from Anthony Dziokonski and Pat McGrath.
Marion Snow was appointed to the Sub-Committee, joining Dawn Dziokonski
and Charles Hyde

VETERANS' DAY PARADE
-Jean Coates sent a letter to the School Committee Chairman, Shepard A.
Clough, requesting approval to use the School Administration Bldg
Parking Lot for parade assembly
-Gerry Hagerty- is arranging for the L F D Color Guard
-Pat Flynn- has arranged for the Speaker of the Day, Col. Charles W Seifert,
Base Commander (as of 10/2/87)-HAFB
-Bob Jackson-has invited Rev. Alden Flanders of The Church of our Redeemer
to give the Invocation and Benediction
-Ray Flynn- has made arrangements for the LHS Band (Jeff Leonard) , and
for wreaths from Carlson's, as well as arranging for a stand and
audio speakers.
-Charlie Hyde - arranging for Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts/? DeMolay
-Nancy Cannalonga - arranging for Girl Scouts/Brownies/Campfire/Rainbow
-Marion Snow - approval for use of Cary Hall/Invitations to Board of
Selectmen and Town Manager, Proclamation
-Bill Fitzgerald-will extend an invitation to the Lexington Elks
The Chief Marshal will be a member of the Lexington VFW Post 3007 Also
invited are Rep Steve Doran, Neil Cronin, American Legion, Charles J Schutt
