MEETING -- November 5, 1987
PRESENT Bill Fitzgerald, Chairman, Ray Flynn, Co-Chairman
Nancy Cannalonga, Pat Flynn, Jerry Hagerty, Jean Coates
Marion Snow, Charlie Hyde
ABSENT Karen Gaughan, Bob Jackson, Paul Jenkins
GUEST Lt John Tobias, LFD - Chief Marshal for Veterans' Day
Chairman Bill called the meeting to order at 8 10 p m. The Minutes of
October 22, 1987, were reviewed and accepted as presented
VETERANS' DAY
There was a final review of the parade roster and "last minute items"
by the Committee, together with the Chief Marshal, John Tobias
Aides to the Chief Marshal will be Angus MacIver, VFW, Tony Dziokonski and
possibly Col Rouillard, USAF Recruiting
Ray Flynn will purchase a small flag to be placed - with the wreath - at the
Veterans' Monument, next to Buckman Tavern
Pat Flynn will assemble the parade participants at the School Administration
Building grounds
Jerry Hagerty reported that the LFD Honor Guard will participate, also
there will be a fire engine for the end of the parade
Chairman Bill commented that he has been trying to reach Neil Cronin (for
Wreath ceremonies)
The Elks plan to carry the MIA flag up the Avenue
Firing detail fr Schutt Detachment plans to be here.
Charlie Hyde has contacted all Boy Scout troops for marchers
Nancy Cannalonga checked with coordinators for Rainbow Girls. They are
not interested in participating Veterans' Day
Pioneer Girls - also not interested for Veterans' Day
Campfire plans to attend
Girl Scouts/Brownies will participate.
Wreath Bearers will be Beth Johansson and Gail Holt Nancy plans to
assign wreaths and accompany girls
For information, Hayden no longer has twirlers or drummers!
Placement of parade participants on the Green was next reviewed
Contingency Plan for Cary Hall is in place, if needed. (n b -WE DID! ! !)
NEXT MEETING DATE Thursday, December 10, 1987. A photo of the Committee
for the Town Report 1987 will be taken at 8 30 p m
Marion Snow will post the meeting at the Town Hall
