HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-03-24-TCC-min.pdf TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES --- 3/24/88 PRESENT Bill Fitzgerald, Chairman, Ray Flynn, Vice Chairman Nancy Cannalonga, Charlie Hyde, Jerry Hagerty, Pat Flynn, Jean Coates, Dawn McKenna, Mary Ann McKenna ABSENT Paul Jenkins, Bob Jackson Chairman Bill called the meeting to order at 7 40 p m MOTION was made and seconded to accept the Minutes of March 17th, 188, as presented He announced that Charlie Hayde has been appointed Permanent Member of the TCC, replacing Karen Gaughan who has resigned Bill read an invitation from the Visitors' Center to attend the Grand Re-Opening on Thursday, April 14th, 1988, from 12 to 2 p.m PATRIOTS' DAY UPDATE Jerry Hagerty - has 16 more banner bearers this week! Pat Flynn - BU Band would like to have a backdrop placed behind them on the Green. Bill proposed borrowing tarpaulins from the Fire Department He will meet with Paul Mazerall to discuss Band buses will park on Harrington Road (or Bedford St ) , so that they can quickly depart after the concert Bob will handle logistics. Bill - Shriners will start arriving at the Elks at 10 a.m. The only changes in last year's Shriners Second Division Roster are POTENTATE - is JAMES M. GASKELL LIGHTING UNIT - is headed by CAPTAIN CHESTER TAYLOR Jerry will have the Second Division Roster typed On 3/31/88, Neil Cronin, chairman of Float Judging, a representative from the amateur radio group and LSH Senior Class President, Jeff Hagopian, plan to be present Nancy - will call Lt. Faulkingham, LPD, re information about the Elks' Float - Girl Scouts will not have a float this year A M. PARADE White Tricorn Hat recipients will meet at the School Administration Building at 7 15 a m They will need at least two cars, which will be provided by the Lions Club Between 50-60 Campfire Boys and Girls are expected to march. There has been no response from the Junior High Band (a.m. or p.m.) . Nancy has talked to all Girl Scouts troops for the names of participants in the morning ceremonies Charlie wrote to all Boy Scout troops. He will have the names of participants for the a.m ceremonies by 1st of April. TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE - MEETING MINUTES 3/24/88 Page 2. P.M. PARADE: Ray - Reviewed with Committee the list of bands and marching units already linedup for p.m. Parade. Fourth Division Marshal is Steven Politi. Be has requested his wife he appointed one of his Aides (the Committee approved) Other Aides, to be contacted, are Col. Stone, Col. Hayden, and Ledbetter. Ray will again try to contact the Junior High Band. INVITATIONS (Status) Jean - will call the office of the British Consul-General, to see if he plans to attend. - notification received that Senator Kennedy unable to attend Fort Devens has not yet responded invitations. Hancom Air Force Base guest list has not yet been received.
