I:EETING MINUTES - 4/28/88
PRESENT: Bill Fitzgerald, Chairman; Ray Flynn, Vice Chairman
Jerry Hagerty, Jean Coates, Marilyn McWeeney,
Dawn McKenna, Mary Ann McKenna, Dawn Dziokonski
ABSENT: Paul Jenkins, Charlie Hyde , Nancy Cannalonga,
Pat Flynn, Bob Jackson, Marion Snow, John Holt
Chairman—Bill called the meeting to order at 7 : 45 p.m. ,
and stated that he had received many compliments on both
Parades.
The Committee , for the rest of the meeting, critiqued both
the a.m. and p .m. Parades-Patriots Day 1988!
A .M . Parade
During exercises on the Battlegreen, personnel from WBEN ( ?)
blocked the view when the children were reciting Oaths &
Promises, despite intervention from Committee members .
Placement of audio speakers need improvement/correction.
Bill attributed this problem to inexperienced personnel .
Parade assembly at Seasons Four Garden Center was smooth
and efficient.
Reminder for 1989 - Marge Battin, Town Moderator, is to
be sent invitation for both parades .
P.M PARADE:
Buses - Bill will review bus distribution problem with
Dispatcher. A study will be made to combine bus assignments
and distribution in 1989 .
Sign - "BANNER BEARERS" needed at High School .
Entertainment for banner bearers ( video or ?) -indoor o) outdoor -
necessary at East Lexington next year .
Radio club membership down this year . Coverage not good
and sorely missed .
LPD report of parade( s) positive .
Specific problems with Middlesex County Volunteers and
Kevin Barry Bagpipers will be addressed .
Suggestion: next year resume meetings as a group of
Chief Marshal , Chief of Staff and Division Marshals and
Aides .

Many units did not check in personally at the Marshal' s Desk .
More copies of P.M. Rosters are needed at the Marshal' s Desk .
Bill received a call from the Historical Society regarding
placement of the old piece of fire equipment. They
request placement behind Lexington Minutemen: Not
possible . Must be placed at end of a Division, because
of noxious fumes .

Bill is investi3ating change of location for reception for
dignitaries ( ? under funding by a sponsor( s) ) .
He announced that the Stanley Hill Post of the American
Legion (via Neil Cronin) has donated 52000 to the TCC .
This gift has been turned over to the Trustees, and has
been invested "for TCC" .
ADJOURNMENT: 9 : 10 p.m.
