MEETING MINUTES - 5/26/88

Chairman Bill called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
MOTION was made and seconded to approve as submitted Minutes of 5/12/88 and
5/19/88.
UPDATE OF MEMORIAL DAY PLANNING
The Chief Marshal is George Gabriel, and not Earl Blount - as previously
stated. He has not chosen his aides as yet, but will ask a couple of
Past Captains Commanding of the Minute Men. He will give Bill their names.
Bill announced that the guest speaker is Lt. Col. Harold Olsen, Deputy
Base Commander, HAFB.
If inclement weather forces ceremonies inside, Rev. Gay M. Godfrey will
give the Invocation and Benediction at Cary Hall.
Bus will load at the School Administration Bldg at 8:45 a.m. for Westview
Cemetery, and the exercises there.
Nancy reports that she so far has been unable to get any Girl Scout or Brownie
troops to march. She does have 3 Brownies for the wreath-laying ceremonies.
She will continue to recruit.
Charlie is awaiting responses from 2 Boy Scout troops. He, also, will attempt
to recruit more Boy Scouts.
Selectmen Dailey and Smith will represent the Board of Selectmen.
Bill will pick up a bullhorn (for Munroe) , as well as the wreaths and
bouquet.
The flag will be left at the Battlegreen for the Flag Detail, and not
carried in the parade. (N.B.-this is subject to change, if the veterans
or flag detail decide to carry it.)
ADJOURNMENT: 8:50 p.m.
NEXT MEETING DATE. Thursday, 6/9/88, at 7:30 p.m. No meeting 6/2/88.
