MEETING MINUTES 11/ 17/88
PRESENT. Bill Fitzgerald, Chairman, Ray Flynn, 2nd Vice Chairman, Jean
Coates, Adrienne Della Penna, Charlie Hyde, John Hayden, Dawn
McKenna, Marilyn McWeeney
Chairman Bill called the meeting to order at 8 05 p m The minutes of
November 10 1988 were accepted as presented.
VETERANS DAY REVIEW:
Bill and Ray shared with the committee all the compliments and bouquets
they received on the parade and ceremonies
General Day was very pleased with the morning and plans to be a guest at
the Patriots day parade
Bill assigned the committee various thank you notes to send.
Ray discussed the flag raising problem and how this might be avoided in
the future
The LHS Band was discussed at some length.
Marilyn and Adrienne had questions on military and hat protocol
Adrienne volunteered to lead the singing at future ceremonies as there is
often a reluctance on participants part to sing.
Jean spoke of the microphone problem
Bill shared with us the information that the Cemetary Dept. the following
Monday, permanently laid the plaque on Mr Cosgroves grave and replaced
the wreath.
We have been given permission to read at a future ceremony (Memorial
Day), a poem written by Mary Angela DiGrazia DiTucci, written in honor of
her father, Dominic DeGrazia, a veteran.

A theme will be chosen at our next meeting.

Floats: Jean and Adrienne
Banner Bearers: Charlie and Marilyn

Invitations: Jean/ Federal

Marion/Local
Publicity. Marilyn and Marion
Battle Road Retreat will be this year 1989
We hope to use the lobby of Cary Hall to assemble dignitaries pri
parade
