HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-12-08-TCC-min.pdf TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES - 12/8/88 PRESENT: Bill Fitzgerald, Chairman, Pat Flynn, 1st Vice Chairman; Ray Flynn, 2nd Vice Chairman, Bob Jackson, Jean Coates, John Hayden Chairman Bill called the meeting of the TCC to order at 8 10 p.m He requested suggestions for the theme for the April 19th parade - in addition to those suggested earlier Following is the "list" JOIN HANDS FOR FREEDOM HOLD HIGH THE TORCH ONE NATION - ONE PEOPLE( FAN THE SPARKS OF PATRIOTISM GLORIFY YOUR HERITAGE GLORIOUS MORNING CONTINUED ANOTHER SUNRISE GLORIOUS MORNING REACTIVATED REBUILD PATRIOTISM GLORIOUS MORNING RENEWED RENEW PATRIOTISM BATTLE OF LEXINGTON -THE HISTORIC RENEW FAITH IN TOMORROW BEGINNING OF INDEPENDENCE REKINDLE FAITH IN TOMORROW MOTION was made, seconded and carried to "close" the suggestions The Committee VOTED UNANIMOUSLY FOR THE THEME FOR 1989 - (thank you, Ray) "ONE NATION - ONE PEOPLE" Bill asked the Committee for a decision on whether or not to invite the Budweiser Clydesdales He noted that before writing a letter inviting them, they would need a location to load after the parade (as well as a location to unload at the beginning of the parade) . After discussion re handlers, scoopers [they provide their own! ] , the Committee agreed that Bill should get the invitation to them while they are still planning 1989 itineraries Thank you - from Cecil Jones for allowing him to be Chief Marshal on Veterans' Day National Guard Unit on Bedford Street have expressed interest in marching on Patriots' Day, if they can get a group together ADJOURNMENT: 8 35 p m.
