MEETING MINUTES - 3/9/89
PRESENT Bill Fitzgerald, Chairman, Pat Flynn, 1st Vice Chairman,
Charles Hyde, Bob Jackson, Jean Coates, Adrienne Della Penna,
John Hayden, Dawn McKenna, Marilyn McWeeney
Chairman Bill called the meeting to order at 8 00 p m The minutes of
2/23/89 were accepted as amended.
PATRIOTS DAY - Update.
Jean has sent the invitations to HAFB
The Cary Library will be available to the Committee for a reception for
distinguished guests prior to the start of the afternoon parade We will
have to furnish a member of the committee to be in the Parking Lot. The
Elks Hall is also available for us at this time The committee voted to use
the Cary Library foyer Bill went to the Elks this past week and went over
the plan of the day with the Elks Everything is set for this year The
collation after the parade will be at the Elks Hall
Jean announced that Senator John Kerry is not coming.
We expect the Spirit of 76' to be the same young people this year
John Van of Minute Man Council has not to date sent a letter asking for the
use of Hasting Park for the Battle Road.
4Th Division;
The following names have been proposed for aides in the 4th Division They
will be called this week All aides need to be down in East Lexington at 12
Noon:
Frank Rymes, Troop 119
Mrs Ross, Girl Scouts
Dave Wilson, Lexington School Dept.
Fred Taylor, Troop 120
Gerry Abbegg, Troop 160
Hopwood Kitchens will have a float in the parade
The D A.R. Memorial Decoration ceremonies will be at 1030 am
MORNING PARADE.
The White Tricorn Hat past recipients will meet in the School Adm
driveway
Marilyn will check on Oaths and Promises
White Tricorn car is all set
Bus Route for p m parade is set.
The Center Playground parking lot has been reserved for Shirners buses
Bill reports that the Philidelphia Mummers may be coming They are
working on putting a group together They would love to come but are not
sure they can get the needed 70% of band together
REPORTS.
Pat. Capt Baker, MDC Police will get back to Pat soon on whether they are
coming. Confirmation received from 18th Army Band, MNG Band and
marching unit, MDC, B U Concert Band.
Adrienne. Still waiting on Princeton Band.
John. Hasn't been able to confirm how may scouts will participate
Bob. Asked by Bill to handl B U Band at Emory Park and then go to Library
Only the entrance on the side facing parking lot will be open
Charlie. Notice on need for banner bearers will be in all school
publications and PTA newsletters
Jean: Invitations have been sent out.
Dawn:. Tip O'Neil will not be attending Rev Kwon will do the a m
services
