Bill Fitzgerald, Chairman, Pat Flynn, ist Vice Chairman, Ray Flynn, 2nd Vice Chairman, Bob Jackson, Adriene Della Penna, Charles Hyde, Paul Jenkins, John Hayden, Jean Coates, Marilyn McWeeney GUESTS George Gabriel, Chief of Staff, Dale Gaasland, Supt of Parks and Tree Dept , Joe Medlin, Manager of Operations Chairman Bill called the meeting to order at 8 04 p m The minrtes r.2f 3/16/89 were accepted as presented. PATRIOTS DAY - UPDATE, Bill informed the committee that our guests will be coming in at 8 30 p rri REPORTS. PAT. Received a letter from the MDC , they will be sending a color guard and probably foot soldiers It will cost $32550 for the bus we wi , , hire The 18th Army Band will need to be feed The M.D C will be sending 3-5 horses which Pat suggested be placed right behind the lead Police Cars, and then the MDC police color guard behind them The National Guard will be bringing band, marching troops and 3 vechicles PAUL, David Taylor will be helping with the Banner Bearers JOHN- Has gotten commitment from 4-5 scouts so far John put together a beautiful map Scouts will give this to the bus drivers CHARLIE. Reported on banner bearers Is going to look to scouts for more help Charlie emphasized he needs help MARILYN: Update on Spirit Contacting groups for oaths and promise people ADRIENNE. It doen't look like the Princeton band will be coming Loop J ing for more floats Bill is sure of four floats BOB. Received one call from a banner bearer Bill asked Bob to have the Radio man come back in to meet with committee RAY. The Timberlane band will be coming. The Coast Guard will furnish us a color guard, also in 1990 Ray thinks we will be getting Norwich. The Follen Church is allowing us to use their parking lot. Sacred Heart Church will be available for us The banners will be delivered to the church on Sat 4/15 mid morning- 10-12 noon. We will stick to 120 chairs, they haven't been ordered yet. Bill introduced the guests to the committee Various procedures for the weekend were reviewed: Reviewed procedure for positioning desks Swimming pool parking lot needs to be blocked off for Shriners and Army Unit buses. The need for two viewing stands, and when they will go up The flags are ususally up on Sunday morning. Bill will meet with Dale to go over the placing of roping for the Battle Road and Patriots day Bill reviewed the route that the Battle Road groups take On April 1 , the militia will walk through the route and go over the program for Battle Road. On April 17th, the speaker systems need to be set up by 5 45 a.m George Gabriel reviewed his aides, they are all set Jean informed the committee that the Korean consul is very interested in coming here for the day An invitiation has been sent out Bill - two buses will be in the High School parking lot, one for the banner bearers and the other will be a shuttle bus The Mummers are still working on putting a unit together for our parade The remainder of the meeting was spent putting the parade order in place ADJOURNMENT 10 00 p m Next meeting 3/30/89 Respectfully submitted, � YJ Marilyn N.
