MEETING MINUTES - 10/26/89
PRESENT Bill Fitzgerald, Chairman, Pat Flynn, 1st Vice Chairman,
Ray Flynn, 2nd Vice Chairman, John Hayden, Dawn McKenna,
Adrienne Della Penna, Jean Coates
GUESTS Tom Driscoll, VFW Post 3007, Jim Roberts, Lexington Minute Men
Chairman Bill called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. Draft Roster #2
was reviewed with the Committee and guests, Tom Driscoll and Jim Roberts
Jim expects that 15-20 LMM will be marching.
VETERANS DAY-Update
Angus McIver will be riding in VFW car with Jerry Garrity Tom Driscoll
will have the name of his second Aide next week
Marilyn sent word that Girl Scouts and wreath bearers are "under control."
Pat will confirm the speaker, and notify Dawn-so that final of Roster
may be printed. There will be a Mass National Guard contingent marching
in the parade, they will come from the Armory on Bedford Street
John has had no firm commitment from the Boy Scouts
There will be a collation at the VFW Post after the Parade.
Jean will send an invitation to march to the Trustees of Cary Memorial
Library, in care of Bill Dailey, Chairman

MINUTES OF Thursday, October 19, 1989, were read and MOTION made and
seconded to accept, as presented.
NEW BUSINESS
PATRIOTS' DAY
Bill has received 3 calls to date for a theme for Patriots' Day
He plans to review suggestions from previous years, and asked for
ideas next week. Short discussion ensued whether theme should be
patriotic, environmental, town-related, or "999
Pat announced that Mass National Guard is getting involved for Patriots'
Day. Will meet after New Year's. Plan to request marching band, marching
detail, jeeps with mounted machine guns.
He has also been in contact with Boston University for their marching band.
