HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-05-12-TCC-min.pdf TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE May 12, 1977 (Notes from May 5 incorporated) PRESENT Mr Gaughan, Mr. Brenchick, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs. Mitchell, Mr. Perry, Mr Flynn, Mr. Turner, Mr Fitzgerald Paul Jenkins ELECTIONS: Nominations having been made at the meeting of May 5 but not being closed at that time, the first order of business was the unanimous vote that nominations be closed since no member wished to offer additional nominations. It was then moved, seconded and voted unanimously that the secretary cast a single ballot for Mr. Gaughan as chairman and for Mr. Brenchick as vice-chairman of the TCC for the upcoming year. At the meeting of May 5, it had also been moved, seconded and voted that as a permanent order of business, the TCC would hold annual elections for officers at the second committee meeting after the first of May MINUTES, of the meeting of April 28 were unanimously approved. CORRESPONDENCE A letter of thanks from Eileen O'Leary, composer of Lexington Flag, for TCC encouragement was read by Mrs. Litchfield. A letter from the Lexington Minutemen which included a statement of their expenses was received. BILLS The following bills were submitted and payment was unanimously voted. Joseph Trani - $99.13 Gokey-Quinn Bus Company (for Ft Devens units) $170.00 Lexington Minute Men - $450.00 also voted on May 5 were the following Royal Columbian Drum Corps - $350.00 Signs - $115 00 Banners - $170.00 Tewksbury-Wilmington High School (TCC portion) $75.00 St. Agnes - $150.00 Fitchburg High School (our portion) $60.00 Methuen - $100.00 OTHER PATRIOTS DAY BUSINESS• Mrs. Mitchell will compose a letter of thanks to the many individuals and businesses who helped make the day a success by donations of time or money A list of potential recipients will be made on May 19 Unit sponsors will also receive official letters MEMORIAL DAY- All plans and responsibilities were reviewed.
