CORRESPONDENCE. Letters of thanks were received from General Skantze and Colonel Adams (who represented General Galloway of Ft Devens) and the Alexander Central Trojan Band. A letter from Pat Doherty of 51 Bloomfield Street noted the absence of horses, fire engines and antique cars in the afternoon parade. A letter regarding parade participation by 4H members as banner carriers written by Mrs. Alice Pierce of 17 Volunteer Way, copies of which were sent to the Selectmen and Town Manager will be answered by Mr. Barnes and Mr. Brenchick. PERMANENT MEMORIAL Mr. Michelson delivered copies of the program and several speeches to the TCC to be placed on file permanently He was again thanked for the work so well done. BILLS The TCC voted to authorize payment of the following Rosina's Kitchen $127.30 C&W Transportation (3 shuttle busses) 90.00 Tomaeo (decorations) 300.00 Waltham Post Band ($200 is sponsored also)200.00 Stoneham High (also $150 Dep. Brenchick (floats, postage, etc.) , 46.81 Leo Gaughan (reception sundries) 31.00 Ruth Mitchell (placecards, postage) 14.51 Minuteman Publications (they also gave) 10.25 2520 42 Mr. Barnes reminded the TCC of the Town purchasing procedure to be followed. He also noted that he had been given a verbal assurance that there would be some money available to the TCC from the Leroy Brown fund. There was considerable discussion regarding future procedures in the case of bills submitted for payment out of TCC funds but contracted by some other Town agency. It was agreed that, in planning for future budgets, either these potential expenses should be included by others in their own budgets or, alternatively, the TCC should make the purchase arrangements so as to have control over costs. MEMORIAL DAY It was moved, seconded and voted that the present State Commander of the American Legion, Mr. Genetti of Bedford, be asked to serve as speaker of the day. All other arrangements and invitations were reviewed; Mrs. Litchfield will contact marching units, clergy and the Town Manager's office; Mr Brenchick will contact youth representatives to deliver the Gettysburg Address and read General Logan's Orders. OTHER BUSINESS It was moved by Mr. Fitzgerald, seconded by Mrs. Litchfield and voted unanimously that the Minutes of the meeting include a statement of appreciation by the TCC to Chairman Barnes for his years of service and dedication to the Town.
