Mr Brenchick
Paul Jenkins
MINUTES the minutes of the meeting of January 6, 1977 were read from notes
by Mrs Mitchell Printed minutes will be available on January 20
CORRESPONDENCE Mrs Litchfield reported that she had contacted Hanscom AFB
and that there were presently 6 generals stationed there She will review
the list of those officers usually invited on Patriots Day and ask for the
names of only those holding particular positions
PARADE THEME Additional suggestions made were as follows
Old Glory - Long May She Wave
Old Glory Flies Again
Long Live The Flag Of Freedom
Long Live The Stars And Stripes Of Freedom
With Liberty And Justice For All
What So Proudly We Hail
Forever In Peace May She Wave
Noting that these suggestions centered around the potential dedication of a
new flagpole and attention to the flag, Chmn Barnes said that there had been
no further word on pole delivery date
FORMS, LETTERS Mr Flynn distributed copies of revised application forms
and a covering letter to be sent to participating units These were reviewed
by the committee, a few changes were suggested, and after duplicating all,
Mrs. Mitchell and Mr Flynn will be responsible for mailing them to units
which were agreed upon as being potential participants Mrs Litchfield
will write to the customary military participants, including musical
military units
PARADE PARTICIPANTS Mr Flynn noted the receipt of a letter of interest
from the Alexandria High School Band, of Alexandria, N.Y This group wishes
to appear in the afternoon parade at no cost to the Town Mr Flynn has
called their director to say that the group will recieve application forms
as soon as possible
OTHER PARADE ARRANGEMENTS Chmn Barnes asked Mrs Litchfield to call
the Lexington Red Cross to ask that a representative meet with the TCC
on January 20 to arrange for emergency first-aid coverage along the parade
route It was noted that Garber and Corcoran ambulance services had done
this in 1976, after it was realized that the weather would be unusually hot
There was further discussion of potential candidates for Chief
Marshal No votes were taken there was general agreement among those
attending the meeting that a Chief Marshal need not necessarily be a current
Lexington resident provided he has the requisite Lexington parade partici-
pation experience

PARADE ARRANGEMENTS (continued)
Paul Jenkins offered to contact those Boy Scouts who served as
aides in 1976 to see if all would be willing to serve again this year
The card file which Paul began will be his reference Paul also said
that he had a "line of actual march" parade roster from 1976 with him
at the meeting Mrs Mitchell will obtain copies for all TCC members
before January 20
LUNCHEON
There was continued discussion about this traditional event All
present agreed that it serves many, many purposes, and that, in financial
terms, there was probably not much money to be saved by changing either
the usual locale or style of meal
OTHER BUSINESS
Mrs Litchfield said that she had had no written reply or further
contact from Captain Commanding Daigle of the Minutemen She will write
him, therefore, and ask that the designated representative(s) to the
TCC meet with us on January 27th
Respectfully submitted,
Ruth M Mitchell, Recording Secretary
