MINUTES of the meeting of May 12, which incorporated notes taken at the meeting of
May 5, 1977 were approved
CORRESPONDENCE In answer to a telephone request made of Mrs. Litchfield, it was
noted that all questions regarding celebration of July 4, 1977 should be
referred to the Lexington Lions Club. The efforts of the TCC on July 4, 1976
were for the Bicentennial Celebration only and will not be repeated unless
a specific request is made by the Selectmen in future years.
PATRIOTS DAY The list of recipients of thank you letters was discussed and agreement
reached that the commercial sponsors, the Lexington Minute Man, Msgr John
Keilty of St. Brigid's and Mr. Richard Michelson who headed the Permanent
Memorial Committee should be sent official letters of thanks from the TCC
on behalf of the Town. Mrs Mitchell will contact former chairman Barnes
to ask about an official thank you for operators of the public address
system
MEMORIAL DAY All plans were reviewed Members of the Fire Department have declined
the invitation to serve as parade staff It was moved, seconded and voted
unanimously to invite Mr Brenchick of the TCC to be Chief Marshall, he
appointed Mr. Perry of the TCC and Scout Paul Jenkins as Aides
Mr. Gennetti is unable to be present on the day to give the Address of
the Day. It was agreed that Mrs. Mitchell would ask Mrs. Battin to give
the Address if it is possible to reach her before the upcoming weekend.
If not, Representative Cole will be contacted
All other arrangements were reviewed. Mrs Mitchell will prepare the
roster for mailing on May 20 and it will be sent through the Town Offices
on Monday, May 23.
OTHER BUSINESS It was moved, seconded and voted that, beginning with the first
meeting in the fall of 1978, the TCC regular meetings would begin at
8 00 pm.
Meeting schedule for the next month Meetings on June 2 and June 16.
No meetings on May 23 or June 9
