HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-12-09-TCC-min.pdf TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE December 9, 1976 PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs Hazel, Mrs Mitchell, Mr Flynn, Mr Turner, Mr Brenchick Paul Jenkins MINUTES of the meeting of December 2, 1976 were approved with the following correction the singer to be contacted is Mrs Henri Tuck CORRESPONDENCE Mrs Litchfield reported that she had contacted the individuals mentioned as being possible participants in a flag dedication Mrs Tuck was most pleased to be invited but her schedule would not allow a December 19 ceremony, Mr Gillespie of the High School cannot bring his musicians during the very cold weather since many of the instruments will not operate properly FLAG RAISING AND POLE DEDICATION Obviously, the late date with no arrival of pole announced precludes holding any ceremony on Sunday, December 12, the 19th remains a possibility but the TCC feels that there would be virtually no attendance at such a ceremony Plans are in readiness, however, if the Selectmen wish to try to schedule this during the Bicentennial year APRIL 19 TCC members reviewed the roster of the Peabody Bicentennial Parade with an eye to invitation of units not normally invited to Lexington, either because they have not been viewed before or because their participation fee has seemed out of line Further discussion of parade participants, staff, etc will be scheduled for the next meeting, January 6, 1977 Respectfully submitted, Ruth M Mitchell Recording Secretary
