December 9, 1976
PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs Hazel, Mrs Mitchell, Mr Flynn,
Mr Turner, Mr Brenchick
Paul Jenkins
MINUTES of the meeting of December 2, 1976 were approved with the following
correction the singer to be contacted is Mrs Henri Tuck
CORRESPONDENCE Mrs Litchfield reported that she had contacted the individuals
mentioned as being possible participants in a flag dedication Mrs Tuck was
most pleased to be invited but her schedule would not allow a December 19 ceremony,
Mr Gillespie of the High School cannot bring his musicians during the very
cold weather since many of the instruments will not operate properly
FLAG RAISING AND POLE DEDICATION Obviously, the late date with no arrival
of pole announced precludes holding any ceremony on Sunday, December 12, the
19th remains a possibility but the TCC feels that there would be virtually
no attendance at such a ceremony Plans are in readiness, however, if the
Selectmen wish to try to schedule this during the Bicentennial year
APRIL 19 TCC members reviewed the roster of the Peabody Bicentennial Parade
with an eye to invitation of units not normally invited to Lexington, either
because they have not been viewed before or because their participation fee
has seemed out of line Further discussion of parade participants, staff, etc
will be scheduled for the next meeting, January 6, 1977
Respectfully submitted,
Ruth M Mitchell
Recording Secretary
