Present: Ch. J. Rooney, D. Boggia, J. Clark, S. Goodwin, A. Green,

Absent: G. Harris, B. Rubin
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm.
A reminder was given to inform Town Clerk, M. McDonough, that this
emergency meeting _was scheduled.
The purpose of the special meeting was to clarify issues raised at the
regular meeting of October 13th concerning program expansion of
congregate meals to four days per week and the consequent increase
in the CoA budget for rent plus the costs of the added two days of meals.
A discussion ensued re the cost of serving the meals in the present site,
alternative site options, and the projection of the whole CoA operation
being housed in the Muzzey School after Muzzey has been converted from
a school building into its future use. The future use is yet to be
determined the decision to be made by December 1st of this year. The
thrust of the discussion hinged on the fact that the Town Manager had
requested that the CoA not ask for an increase greater than 5% in its
proposed FY' 83 budget. The enlarged congregate meals program would be
a major factor in increasing the budget by 49%.
It was the consensus of the board members that this program is extremely
important and that its full implementation should be included in the
budget proposal.
MOTION: Moved, seconded, and passed to run a four-day congregate meal
program (Monday through Thursday) with a limit of fifty diners
per day with a budget of $6700 plus $1000 for paper products .
