Hancock Street Traffic Safety Committe "O. Blind Driveway Sign On 2/15/84 , the Traffic Safety Committee met with Mr & Mrs Philip Cavaretta regarding their request for a "Blind Driveway" sign on Hancock Street at Revere Street They further expressed concern about the potential for a pedestrian accident at the crosswalk at that location. It was pointed out to the Cavarettas that the cause of the visibility problem at their driveway is a large spruce tree and forsythia hedge on their own property. It was recommended that the tree be trimmed to a height of six to eight feet and that a section of the hedge be removed Mr Cavaretta stated that he was contemplating removing the tree The Committee believes that visibility improvement can be made by the Cavarettas on their property and unan- imously recommends that the request for a "Blind Driveway" sign be denied With respect to the crosswalks, and the geometry of the intersection as a whole, the Committee told the Cavarettas that a request for funds for the reconstruction of Hancock Street, including this intersection, will come before this year's Town Meeting, and, if approved, construc- tion could begin in one to two years.
