Ferguson begs to report that while they are in favor of the purchase of the property they have not been able to agree with Mr Ferguson as to price The Hill , adjoining as it does the Hancock School property and much more available for playground purposes than it is for sensible building devel- opment , should belong, to the Town for the protection of its prop- erty This is especially so because there appears to exist t-ome- M where over the narrow strip of land at its easterly end d'n Clarke street near Miss Clara Harrington' s property a right of way which would be exceedingly troublesome and detrimental to the chool property if availed of to get off of the Hill property, as would surely be the case ii any building wore started on the Fill This is one of the strongest reasons why the Committee would like to see the Town control the Hi -1. The accompanying map shows the lines of the property bouc-ht by Mr Ferguson containing just over 2 acres . Mr Ferguson' s house in which the live. is so near to the lino that he bought the Hill that he might have an open space back of his house , and in looping over the property the Committee agreed that it purchase could be made of Ur Ferguson he should be allowed to retain a trip of land lack of hi. home property Furthermore, the lot of 1, nd on which now stands the old lelfro,; is of such character and is so situated in relation to th rest of the School property that it does not seem cssen -ial to the proper -)rotection of the school i ro oc r+y and. it would be of some little advantage to Mr Ferguson It has therefore soused to the Committee sensible to recommend that this .land bo conveyed to Mr Forgu .h in partial exchange for th.
