\ April 11, 1973
PRESENT Vice Chmn. Gaughan, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs Reed, Mr Lord, Mr Brenchick,
and Mrs Hall. Neil Cronin also met with our Committee
PATRIOTS DAY
The Fiske Hill ceremony with officials from Concord will take place on Saturday,
April 14th at 4pm at the usual Massachusetts. Avenue location. All TCC members
should make an effort to attend this ceremony
The suggestion has been made that our Committee purchase the necessary wigs,
beards, etc. for the Spirit of '76 personnel. Those items we have rented over
the years have not always been in the best of condition, and it becomes in-
creasingly difficult to pick up the items at the various rental stores as the
stores are not open on a regular basis This matter should be taken up at our
next TCC meeting.
Mrs.; Hall will contact Mr O'Connell to be sure that Cary Memorial Hall will be
open prior to and during the afternoon parade on Patriots Day, April 16th. This
would be for the convenience and comfort of our guests,,.
Mrs Ball will contact Roger Williams of the High School Co-op and suggest that
the Co-op try to have a coffee and doughnut stand at the High School parking
lot for parade participants.
) COMBINED MEETING:
✓ There will be a joint meeting of. the Bi-centennial Committee and the Town
Celebrations Committee on Wednesday, April 25th in the Town Office Building at
8 30pm. All TCC members are requested to attend.
MEMORIAL DAY.
Mr Lord will order a bus to be at Munroe School at 9am to transport Minute Men
and other parade officials to Westview Cemetery for wreath-laying ceremonies
Mrs. Litchfield will obtain the names of the five Girl Scouts who will take part
in the day's memorial ceremonies along the parade route and at Westview Cemetery
Mr Lord will sign up the High School Band (which includes one student who will
play TAPS) and a High School student to recite the Gettysburg Address
Mr Cronin suggested that Mr Brenchick take over his duties of last year, and
he (Mr Cronin) would be happy to instruct Mr Brenchick as to just what needs
attention. Mr Cronin acted as a sort of master of ceremonies during the day's
activities, or as a coordinator, if you will. The Committee agreed this would
be a good move.
Respectfully submitted,
Marilyn L. Hall, Recording Secretary
