Re-enactment planning continued.
Capt. Lima reported that the Lexington Police Department would not have enough
men to cover the re-enactment properly (an officer or person in authority
should be placed every fifty feet around the Green where spectators would be
standing) Mr Lund said he would try to line up twelve to fifteen Minute Men
to aid the Police Department in crowd control and safety
Mr. Lund set up the March 23rd meeting so that all loose ends of this event
will be pulled together, rules and regulations firmed up, and the press advised,
in writing, of their placement on the Green and exactly what they, will be
allowed and not allowed to do before, during and after the re-enactment
Mr O'Connell made some observations and suggestions First, the, Town should
refrain from offering any Town facilities to assist the press. There should
be Town cars, radio-equipped, stationed at both ends of the Green for effective
communications during the re-enactment (before and after as well).. Arrangements
should be made to have the Town ambulance stationed at the Green area for this
event as a precautionary measure. All bicycles should be kept off the Green.
Mr Barnes told Mr. Lund that the Town Celebrations Committee wants from the
Lexington Minute Men, in writing., the total planning ant arrangements for this
event. Mr Barnes stated that the Town Celebrations Committee is net
responsible for this re-enactment, and that we will keep the publicity for this
event to a minimum.
Respectfully submitted,
