HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-04-SILC-rpt.pdf� T tfo. oeSIPC SUBREGION INTERTOWN LIAISON COMMITTEE Formed by the towns of BEDFORD BURLINGTON CARLISLE CONCORD ACTIVITIES SYNOPSIS LEXINGTON LINCOLN MARCH - APRIL 1973 SUDBURY WAYLAND WESTON WILMINGTON ACTON Due to Town Meetings we have perhaps not spent too much time on SILC However, the following is of interest Concord, Lincoln and Weston voted a total of $8500 in Town meetings for matching funds for transportation planning A copy of my letter to Sec Altshuler is attached Many of the West Suburban and Assabet Solid Waste Disposal Planning Board communities are beginning to work under SILC towards a region Carlisle and Burlington are also interested Sudbury also voted to join at its Town meeting Wayland is to vote in the fall Several_ Towns either appropriated money or allocated existing monies The first meeting will be in Concord 4/26/73 at 8 p.m , Town Hall Sen Atkins has informed us that transportation in SILC during the Bicentennial is receiving a lot of state attention, but that the emphasis is on buses and not on rejuvenation of the rail system.
