Due to Town Meetings we have perhaps not spent too much time on SILC
However, the following is of interest
Concord, Lincoln and Weston voted a total of $8500 in Town meetings for
matching funds for transportation planning A copy of my letter to
Sec Altshuler is attached
Many of the West Suburban and Assabet Solid Waste Disposal Planning Board
communities are beginning to work under SILC towards a region Carlisle
and Burlington are also interested Sudbury also voted to join at its
Town meeting Wayland is to vote in the fall Several_ Towns either
appropriated money or allocated existing monies The first meeting will
be in Concord 4/26/73 at 8 p.m , Town Hall
Sen Atkins has informed us that transportation in SILC during the Bicentennial
is receiving a lot of state attention, but that the emphasis is on buses and
not on rejuvenation of the rail system. I will continue to work on this
Acton has accepted our invitiation to become our eleventh member
The SILC By-laws were amended to provide for a 1 May - 30 April term for
delegates to eliminate the pre-Town election and meeting problems A copy
is attached
