MINUTES of Commission meeting of July 12, 1971.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman Mr. Brown at 8:00
pa. , with Mesdames Frick and Rawls and Dr. Kessler as well as
Messrs. Friedman, Mazerall and Reiner, present.
Wooded area between Waltham Street apd High School. The residents
of 191 Waltham Streef are concerned about the proposed fence the
school administration plans to run along the rear of their pro-
perty. They have asked that the Commission help convince the
Town that the wooded, marsh area be preserved and turned over to
conservation, and also they recommended that the fence line fol-
low the line of the brook instead of the property line.
The matter was discussed with Selectman Buse and will be discussed
by the School Committee.
Environmental Workshop. Mrs. Frick was invited to attend an
environmental workshop at the high school tomorrow morning (Tues-
day, July 13) , to help the teachers set up a program and to pro-
vide background material on land use in Lexington. Mrs. Brown
(wife of the Chairman) will attend with Mrs. Frick.
&mast= SeedJine Forest Committ e , of which Mrs. Frick is
Secretary-Treasurer, will meet Friday , July 16, at 4:00 p.m. at
the Public Works Department office (Town Bare).

page. A picture will be taken tomorrow for a story on the Report

Grant of 8')9.000 has been approved by HUD, Mr. Brown reported.
Conservation Planning. Mrs. Rawls will speak with Mr. Femeeasy
the summer interne at the Planning Board office.
tnar at Dist 4 State DPW Otfige will be held on July 21 at
8 p.m. (519 Appleton St., Arlington - 648-6100). Environmental
requirements of the 1970 Federal Highway Act will be discussed.-
After a brief executive session, the meeting adjourned at 9:35 p.m.,
until Monday, July 19.
