MINQTE3 of Commission meeting of June 28, 1971. r�
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Brown, at
7:55 p.m. , with Mesdames Frick and Bawls, Dr. Kessler and Mr. ,
Mazerall and Associate members Mesdames Nichols and Solomon and 1
Mr. Friedman present.
Minutes of June 21, 1971 meeting were accepted with the follow-
ing corrections:
Page 1, names on CLC volunteer list are Wellington and Bramley
Page 2, paragraph 2 - omit second sentence on State reimbursement. I
Page 3, para. 2, line 5 should read, "Messrs Lund, Clark and.
Graham of the Planning Board..."...Line 6: "Rep.
Vigneau of Burlington. .."
Recreation Committee Meeti1p� was held on Thursday, June 24. Mrs.
Solomon attended and reported that Herbert Eisenberg presented a
tot lot design using no equipment. A pilot play area of this type
will be constructed in the Center Playground near the new tennis
courts. Mr. O' Connell, who was at the meeting, expressed fear
that the tot lot would be vandalized. Theft of tennis nets is
now rampant.

n Conservation Strri�p. Much work to be done. The bill
s passefrst retaking by sizeable majority in the Hawse.
Now the race is on to see which will happen first - passage of
the bill or Town's taking of the land.

Lot. Mr. Brown and Dr. Kessler looked over the Bernard, Road
s 4" and saw no problems. Since no major al-
terations of the land are involved, the building of a tot lot is
clearly within the scope of conservation use.
wraj= Board has hired a young apprentice, Mr. Fennessy, to
ork on recreation/conservation plans. Mrs. Rawls will be in
touch with the Planning Board to assist in coordination.tl.!.Mrs.
Greene reported Mr. Zaleski has asked for notification and copy
of deed when purchase of each conservation parcel is completed.
tlee n, yith Board of felectmepn began at 9:00 p.m. Before ex-
ecutive session was declared, Mrs. Frick formally presented the
joint Atlington-Lexington stat..ement and asked for return of ex-
tra copies of the Report. Board of Selectmen asked about money
remaining in the article, which, Mrs. Frick explained, would be
used to reprint the summary.
Meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. , until July 12, 1971.
