CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES of Commission meeting September 13, 1971.
The Commission joined the ongoing meeting of the Planning Board
at 8 03 p.m. After the new Commission member was introduced to
members of the Planning Board, executive session was declared to
discuss matters of financial interest to the Town (conservation
acquisition planning) . Explanation of reason for exectItive ses-
sion was requested by Tom Curran, reporter from the Minute Man.
The Commission reconvened in the Committee Meeting Room, Police
Department Building, and the meeting was called to order by the
Chairman, Mr. Brown at 10:05 p.m. The following were present
Mr. Cohen, Mrs. Frick, Dr. Kassler, Mrs. Rawls, Mr. Friedman and
Mrs. Solomon.
Minutes of the September 7, 1971 meeting were approved as submitted.
Stoico Development Bryant & Page Roads still seems almost inundated.
Concern expressed that possibly the issuance of permits was based
upon insufficient or incorrect information. Mr. Friedman will call
the DNR to take another look.
1970 Articles acquisitions (Drummer Boy, etc. ) are progressing,
according to indications in last week' s Minute Man report.
History of Commission is due in two weeks, Mrs. Frick reported
(for the Minute Man anniversary issue) , and she still does not
have sufficient information on the origins of the Commismion.
A letter will be sent post-haste to Mr. Sussman, while Mrs. Frick
continues inquiring locally.
Letter of Resignation was received from Associate Member Joseph
Reiner, citing heavy load of school work. Mr. Brown will write
him accepting the resignation.
CODY of Paxton Conservation Plan received, including map in color.
New Wetlands Man received from engineering Department (soil survey) .
Town Report Deadlines notice give December 10, 1971 for narrative and
January 14, 1972 for Part II data
Executive Session was declared between 10:30 and 11:10 p.m.
The Meeting adjourned at 11 30 p.m. after it was agreed that the
next two Commission meetings should take place on Monday evenings
September 20 and 27.
