The meeting was called to order at 8 30 p m by the Chairman, Mr. Brown, with Mrs Frick and Messrs Mazerall and flotman present, with visitors Manfred Friedman (briefly) and Frank Sandy Meeting Schedule Next meeting April 27, 1970 at 7 45 p.m x Appointments 8 00 Mr. William Hamilton (Mrs Greene will write him ) 9 00 Planning Board about next year' s plants (Mrs. Frick will arrange) For quorum assurance, please notify the Chairman or Secretary if you cannot attend or will be delayed. Mr. O'Connell has recommended that the Commission meet on some other night than Monday sometimes It was agreed that the Commission meeting during the 3rd or 4th week of each month k could be held on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening. The schedule for May will be set on April 27. 1 Pending Applications and Acauisitions. DNR applications 8 & 10 and. Requisition for Grant for OSA 51 (Whipple Hill) have been held up because documents requested in February have not yet been received from Mr. Legro. Unless these are received this week, extensions must be requested (if possible) . Fa Title on the Steeves land has been cleared and purchase should be going ahead. Purchase of the remaining parcels in the Hayden Woods area is in the hands of the Board of Selectmen. Drummer Boy (Article 93) Option requested of Town Counsel 222 through Mr. O'Connell. Brook between Valleyfield & Grassland Sts. On Friday it looked as if builder Compagnone had graded and finished without filling waterway. Then during the weekend large quantities of fill were heaped at the corner of the two roads. The DNR has been notified and is sending someone out to inspect. Pollution of Brooks. Messrs. Friedman and Sandy agreed that a pollution-hunting brook walk of the Vine Brook would be an ex- cellent project for the Citizens for Lexington Conservation. A letter from Miss Victoria Smith of Eldred Street told of oil pollution upon North Brook, coming from under 128. This letter also reached the Town Manager, who had the matter investigated. No active source of pollution could be found and it was concluded that spring release of oils upon melting snow along 128 and roads must have been the source. Enlargement of the Commission to 7.
