HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-12-27-LCC-min.pdf 5rgri le I, rr LEXINGTON CONSERVATION, COMMISSION MINUTES OF MEETING OF DECEMBER 27, 1965 A regularly scheduled meeting of the Lexington Conservation Commission was held in the Conference Room in Cary Hall at 8 40 p.m following a meeting of the Chairman with the Planning Board There were present Messrs Ripley, Sussman, Garrity and Smith, Mr Eugene Trainer and William Reed of the Lexington School System Also present was Mrs Anthony of the League of Women Voters 1 Discussed with Mr Trainer and Mr Reed the proper Conservation use of the Swenson farm Forest manage- ment possibilities of the Pine Woods at the Franklin School and the interest of the school system in con- servation They inquired whether the Commission would be able to make available to the school system a core auger for sampling soil and in increment borer for tree testing 2 Discussed the budget and approved the re-imbursement to John Garrity of $3 50 for attending the October meeting of the Massachusetts Association of Conserva- tion Commission 's and $9.60 to Mr. Snaith for photo- static copies ordered from the Registry of Deeds and pay $35 00 dues to the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commission and to buy additional reprints of Reader's Digest articles for $18 00 3 Voted to ratify the acts of the meeting of December 20, 1965 4 Discussed Bowman Park and noted that the Town had voted in 1902 to hold the land perpetual for "public use as a park or pleasure ground" and voted to pass this information on the Planning Board by attaching a copy of the vote to the minutes forwarded to them 5 Voted that Mr Sussman contact Mr Harrison about obtaining an additional parcel of' his land Meeting adjourned at 1045 p.m Respectfully submitted, Francis W.K.
