TOWN OF LEXINGTON
CONSERVATION COMMISSION
Minutes of regular meeting held Thursday, 17 December, 1964
Place: Town Accountanth office
Present : All members
Mr. Sussman opened the meeting at 8:05 P.M.
Old Business
1. Mr. Palladino came at 8:45 to discuss possible
purchase of land owned by him.
2. The budget was discussed further.
3. There was discussion of a parcel of land near
Woodhaven.
4. It was reported that land at the Winchester--Arlington-
Lexington border voted by the March, 1963 Town Meeting
has never been purchased. It was agreed that appropriate
action be taken.
5. Mr. B',. Cataldo appeared before the Commission to
discuss the Swenson land which he owns. The following
motion was made, seconded, and passed unanimously:
"That the 6'ommission prepare, tender for
signature, and receive back, land an option
for the Town to purchase frDm Mr. Cataldo
the Swenson and Palladino properties for
$250,000."
New- Business
1. The Commission voted 518.00 to purchase more
Readers ' Digest reprints.
24 Mr. P. G. Yewell, sent by the Selectmen's Tax
Projection CoMmittee, came to talk about the Budget.
He was told that the budget should be divided into
two parts : one, xxmalnd the operating budget, for
which approximately 810,000 ould be needed over a
five year period; and two, ope land acquisition,
far which at least $75,000 per ye r woulc be required,
(See 1964 Capital Expenditures Committee Report. )
Next meeting. was set for 30 December, 1964, at $:00 P.M.
