Lexington Youth Commission
Minutes of Meeting Held on Thursday, February 13th, 2025
A Meeting of the Lexington Youth Commission was held on Thursday, February 13th, 2025.
The meeting began at 7:OOpm at the LPD Community Room.
Present: Brett Robinson, Sofia Saleeby, Sarah Chen, Rohan Banerji, Ava Kieval, Sarah Beuttell,
Vivian Lou, Kimly Nguyen, Sophie Read, Brooke Pan, John Kefalas, Bart Byers, Henry Kamich,
Jayant Krishnan, Meera Krishna, Violet Clarke, Blake Saint Louis, Sadie Maloney, Lucy
Applegate, Alice Ma, Rohan Singh, Owen Rosenthal, Sarah Kochi, Khayal Das, Samantha
Quattlebaum, Amanda Quattlebaum, Jack Gehring, Raghav Shrivastava
Absent: Keya Doshi (Guadalupe trip), Sonal Setty (work), Nethra Ramaiah, Bariza Quader, Eva
Benet, Emma Kain (excused),
Valentine's Day Card
- Brett talked about how he delivered Valentine's Day cards to senior centers in Lexington
(Youville and Pine Knoll)
- Everybody at the senior centers was very appreciative to receive the cards and they
brought a lot of positivity
- Some other cards also went to the Senior Luncheon at the community center, Care One,
and Aberjona Nursing.
- LYC hand wrote 520 cards for Valentine's Day
Lex250 Gala, March 6th at Wilson Farms
Deb wants to know if 5 or 6 LYC members are interested in working the coat check at a Lex250
event at Wilson's Farm on Thursday, March 6th, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Community service hours available for this!!
Please let Deb know by Friday, March 3rd if you are interested.
Lions Eyeglass Cleaning
- We are bringing back the Lions Eyeglass Cleaning this year (thank you Shannon!)
- The event will be Saturday, March 15th, 2025 12:00-2:OOpm. Pizza and dessert will be
served
- Available: Izzy, Sofia, Brett, John, Owen, Rohan Banerji, Rohan Singh, Violet, Sarah
Beuttell, Meera, Alice, Sarah Chen, Vivian, Kimly, Margot, Bart, Henry, Jay, Jack, Sarah
Kochi Deb needs more of us to participate in this event!
- Last year we cleaned over 2,000 glasses to be given to people in need in underdeveloped
countries
- Go to the Lions Club website to see footage of someone wearing their glasses for the first
time
Lex250 Parade
- We have the go ahead to be the hype squad for the Lex250 parade
- We have 15,000 flags to hand out to viewers 30 min before the parade starts
- We NEED volunteers to help us with this (at least 40 people).
Ask friends and siblings if they are interested. Community service available!
- 18 people at the meeting said they were available We currently have 18 volunteers
from the Commission, we need an additional 20-25. DEB NEEDS YOUR HELP THIS
WEEK WITH THIS!!!!!
- If anyone knows any middle schoolers interested in carrying the banner in the parade
itself, let - This has been filled Thank you Carys.....
Tom's Time
- Tom is hosting an egg hunt at the community center on April 5th from 2-5 and he needs
help organizing that. Let him know if you are interested in helping out

- The community center got a new air hockey table! Yay!
- Tom is trying to host a multicultural event at the community center. If you are interested in
having a table at the event to represent your culture, let him know!
- Summer and spring positions (volunteer AND paid) are also available at the Rec
department. Visit the website or email Tom if you are interested.
If you know any rising freshmen interested in joining LYC, please have them reach out to Deb.
If you have a sibling who is a rising freshman, email Deb ASAP.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 13th at 7:OOpm at the Lexington Police
Department Community Room. As always, attendance is necessary! Pizza and dessert will be
provided.
