S. With respect to standards based grading, shared the current analysis
from Clarke, 80% of freshman are receiving A's and B's. The students
who are struggling were many of the 8th graders who obtained a P
(progressing) in their learning process standard.
6. Need to look at how we are measuring the learning process standard
here, and begin calibrating this across the grades and school. This will
be a focus on PD in the Spring here at Diamond.
B. Staff
1. Ms. Didie: shared that staff are spending a lot of time on Teacher Ease,
adding comments, logging in the information, and ensuring there is
detail. However, a number of parents/caregivers have not logged onto
Teacher Ease and seen the information, there is a concern.
a) Dr. Cole shared that there is roughly 1/3 of the parents/caregivers
who have not logged in. However, we are not sure they are
sitting with their child and having their child login to both see
what is occurring with grading.
b) Parent: Can we approach this from the other side? Pull the
students and show them how to login and then have the student
go home and show their parent/child? Expressed concern that
if you are not a strong EF parent, could be an issue. Additionally,
could we put the process standard to the top of the report card?
c) Parent: Concern of constant comparison between Clarke and
Diamond.
