Detective Sowle update and debrief on Toys for Tots
- Detective Sowle thanked the commission for contributing to the Toys for Tots drive
- He expressed gratitude from the police department for our assistance in the drive, we
donated the most toys in both Middlesex and Essex Counties.
- We brainstormed more ways to keep the commission members engaged throughout the
event (maybe making signs to hold at the crosswalk, sandwich boards, attending the tree
lighting on Black Friday)
Valentine's Day Cards
- Jack talked about the contents of the envelopes that everyone received at the meeting
- Everyone received 6-8 cards and envelopes, as well as stickers and sentence starters
- Everyone is expected to fill out each of these cards with handwritten messages so that
they can be delivered to local senior citizens, and decorate and address the outside of the
envelopes with the stickers.
- IF YOU WERE NOT AT THE MEETING, CONTACT DEB TO GET YOUR CARDS OR
STOP BY ROOM 202 AT LHS

can't afford glasses

- There will be more details at the February meeting
Tom's Time
- Tom handed out a brochure of positions offered by the Rec department over the summer

- The Rec department is a great place for high schoolers to work at, and they offer many
different positions for people to work at

- We are tentatively planning on handing out flags BEFORE the parade
