Steve said he thought that the Town had used the Leroy Brown funds for last April 19/ July 4 1976 - Line thought that this years celebration should have something more than the Lions Club Carnival Leo said that the general feeling of the TCC was that there should be a "good old Towne Celebration" If the Town does went something extra done on July 4, TCC has to be authorized by the Town, responsibility has to be assigned and funds budgeted. Feeling was that a picnic and a band concert were the types of things we would like to have Since July 4 is on a Sunday in 1976, the parade would be held at bout 3pm - a short parade followed by a family picnic with enber- tainment by the Bicentennial Band or the Lex Drum and Bugle corps or both All should oe low key and local The Selectmen will have to be requested to chabge TCC with the July 4th Celebration Budgeting is necessary before the first of the year Dick reported that there had been 130,000 visitors recorded at the visitors center so far this year - a number which is normally 60,000. Ruth reported that the Cary Lectures this year will be geared to the Bicentennial Three consecutive Saturday nights in March. Miriam will talk on John Hancock and Sam Adams, then there will be a telk on the Thirteen original Colonies by someone on the Us Bicentennial Coem, and the third one will feature old music.
