Minutes of the Executive Session, January 28, 1982
Mary Lou Touart expressed concerns about the Wexler Corporation, which had done
the Clarke Junior High School She was a member of the permanent building
committee and they had trouble with building leaks However she thinks there is
a need for elderly congregate housing
Bea reported that Laura Fisher had telephoned with her first choice being The
Waldorf School for a ten year lease and her second being Community Development
Partnership She emphasized that a longer lease for Waldorf would put it way
down on the list, because she thinks the future of private elementary schools
is shaky Of the condo proposals she prefers Fusco and Klein
Bea also reported that the Building Inspector had reveiwed the proposals and
found Fusco and Klein's most innovative He had also said that Sweeney and
Wexler both had excellent reputations
Lillian and Anna felt the Town had a need for elderly
On the school proposals there was concern that The Schools for Children had a
split day, which would increase traffic, and that there funding was dependent
upon the state
i
1 The Committee decided on three semi-finalists i
The Waldorf School
The Community Development Partnership
The Fusco and Klein Partnership
Questions were then developed for each of these, to be put in a letter that also
invited them to come before the Committee on February 3, one half hour each,
starting at 8 00 pm These letters were mailed to Committee members, and are
incorporated into these minutes
Respectfully Submitted,
