HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-05-26-min 2'a SELECTMEN' S MEETING May 26, 1952 A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building on Monday evening, May 26, 1952 at 7:00 P. M. Messrs . Lmery, Gay, Driscoll and Reed were present. The Clerk was also present . In the absence of the Chairman, Mr. Emery acted as Chairman for the evening. Letter was received from the State Department of Public Works, together with contract , in duplicate, in Chapter 90 the amount of 4e1,000 for Chapter 90 maintenance work. Maintenance Upon motion of Mr. Gay, seconded by Mr. Driscoll, Contract it was voted to sign the contract. Letter was received from Town Clerk, Mr. Carroll, advising that Article 44 as passed at the Adjourned Town Meeting held on March 24, 1952, has been approved Amendment to by the AtborneGeneral. This is an amendment to the By-laws General By-Laws closing the Town Offices on Saturdays Approved and opening one night each week. Upon motion of Mr Reed, seconded by Mr. Gay, it was voted to grant the following licenses: Lexington Theatre, Inc. 1794 Mass . Avenue Suhday Movies Gerald J. Flanagan 4 Aerial Street Peddler Mr. Driscoll reported that Mr. George dynes is willing to accept to appointment to serve as a Cemetery Commissioner to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr. Spencer. Because appointment to fill the vacancy must be made by ballot by the Selectmen and the remaining Commissioners, action was held over until the next meeting. The Clerk reported that Mr. IGl Sorley, County Dog Officer, left several forms, forthe Board ' s signature, claiming reimbursement fromt. the County for funds paid by the Treaurer covering board, care and killing of dogs by' the local Dog Officer. Upon motion of Mr. Gay, seconded by Mr. Driscoll, it was voted to sign the forms and return them to the County Commissioners, The meeting adjourned at 7 :35 r. M. A true record, Attest. le 'y
