The meeting was called to order by Chairman Charles Pheeney at 8 15 p.m.
The accepting of the minutes from the previous meeting was postponed because
copies were not prepared in time for the meeting.
Report was given by Mr Heaney, Mr Beatty, and Mr Pickett on items A and C
of the contract with Camp, Dresser & McKee to advance the study of the most suitable
refuse disposal facility for the proposed district At the next meeting the report
from Camp, Dresser & McKee should include an evaluation of sites on which an incin-
erator could be located This was requested by Peter Reiman, Chairman of the engi-
neering subcommittee and is indicative of the thoughts of the majority of the Board's
members The Board's members feel that. a solution of land-filling on any site
located in anyone of the pariicipatiag col, munities is politically impossible and thus
any site should be evaluated in terms of its c.pacity of supporting an incinerator
or similar disposal plant The topic of the next meeting with Camp, Dresser & McKee
is to be incinerator sites and feasibility of incineration, as suggested by Mr Reiman
Mr Beatty agreed to this and further stated that at the next meeting will be included
a review of incineration, general conside_ations of the problems, and some possible
incinerator sites In addition to further explore the possibility of selling steam
resulting from incineration of refuse Mr Heaney offered to contact industrial
developers The Board applauded this offer and approve of such a move
