Mr Heaney and Mr Baker submitted to the Board a progress report on the study of items A and C of the contract let by the Board to Camp, Dresser & McKee Mr Heaney further stated that the refuse survey (Item A of the contract) should be completed by June 7 In respect to this survey Mr Reiman offered the assistance of the Board's members to Mr Heaney A verbal opinion given by Mr Heaney suggested that the Board present the par- ticipating communities with two or three sites employing a sanitary landfill pro- cedure and an alternative plan of incineration. The response of the Board to this suggestion was that such a plan of a landfill site within any community of the proposed district would have a small chance of being accepted by the chosen com- munity and thus the Board would not be able to base its refuse disposal method on such a plan. The Board instead recommended that Camp, Dresser & McKee consider possible sites for sanitary landfill operations, but not to devote much detail to such study and concentrate on possible sites suitable for an incinerator facility within the district Mr Heaney and Mr Baker said they were interested in the Board's ideas and will make their evaluation of the sites in accord with the Board's wishes A meeting of the Board will be held on June 24, at Weston, Mass to discuss MINUTES May 20, 1969 with Mr Heaney of Camp, Dresser & McKee item A and C of the contract Mr Reiman requested that bills from Camp, Dresser & McKee be passed out at the monthly meetings of the Board starting with the June 24, meeting.
