HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-10-26-YC-min.pdf MINUTES YOUTH COMMISSION OCTOBER 26, 1972 Present Peter Clarke, Stephan Doran, Dr Charles Ellicott, Virginia Comstock, Robert Murphy, Debora Kessler, Mrs David Hamblen, Kathy Kenney, Leslie Klane, Joshua Cochin, Alfred Busa, William Hays, Paul Furdon, Gunther Kleeberg, Lorraine Ferguson, Steve Politi , Joseph Burns, Jack Maguire, Arthur Sharenow The meeting was called to order at 7 35 p m. in Room G-15, Town Office Building, October 25, 1972 It was decided to elect youth to the Bicentennial Committee Dr Ellicott suggested that the Green Guides be nominated for this position Peter Clarke, Chairman of Problems of Youth , gave a progress report on his Committee. They met for three hours compiling a questionnaire. This questionnaire covers hostilities, school , family, friends, over-all problems and pressures The distribution of this questionnaire is going to tentatively be through the school system. Jack Maguire voiced a favorable opinion Peter Clarke said the final draft will be done within a month and each member will receive one before the next meeting Leslie Klane gave a progress report on the Inventory Committee. A hand- out sheet was given to each member present with the proposed headings on it Leslie read the handout, explaining and expanding as she went along Dr Ellicott, Chairman, suggested an article be placed in the Minuteman with a box return seeking organization that encourage youth participation, maybe including the need for someone to donate 2-3 hours per week of secretarial work Al Busa stated that the Town would pay for 2 or 3 months rent of a Post Office Box Leslie Klane will be giving her name and phone number in the newspaper ad for people to get in touch with her - 862-2218. The next meeting will be the first week of December, tentatively December 7, 1972 The meeting adjourned at 9.00 P.M Respectfully, Kathy Kenney Secretary
