FEBRUARY 21 , 1974
Present Christopher Anderson, Dave Norcross, Jean Miley,
pane Berchtold, Paul Furdon, Madalyn Quinlan, Doug
allager, Shirley Hamblen, Stephen Politi
The meeting was called to order at 7;00 P.M in the lobby of the
First Babptist Church, February 21 , 1974
Distribution and choosing a proper questionaire was on the
agenda at the last meeting Dave Norcross and Jean Miley both
suggested that the final questionaire should be a combination of
selected questions from each of the questionaires, and the entire
summer questionaire The questionaire sub-committee will meet
with Jean Miley to work out the details
Shirley Hamblen rejected the placement of definition and
hypotheses on the Lexingron Youth Committee Questionaire due
to her belief that this placement would create the atmosphere
of a test and turn kids off
The Commission agreed that the results to the Lexington
Youth Committee Questionaire (LYCQ) would be difficult to
tabulate while the first question of that questionaire is what
the main idea of the questionaire is about, assuming that everyone
knows what activities are offered The third questionaire in the
booklet of questiones recieved by the Commission members was
determined to be the easiest questionaire to tabulate, and that
it should serve as a base to the final questionaire A series
of changes and moderations to questions of each questionaire
were discussed
Discussion of the foster program was conducted and Paul
Furdon presented a booklet presenting the numbers and ages of
reported runaways who were Lexington residents Jean Miley
atated that counseling would be attempted inall cases and that
the aim is to find out there is not a need for this kind of
program This program would also be a vehicle to locate kids
w ith a problem Paul Furdon rebuted by saying that this would
create an adverse effect and make it easier to run away
The Meeting was adjourned at 8 28 P M
